Privacy policy
Privacy policy
For the DCC Clock app and the dcclabs.net website. Last updated 4 November 2026.
Short version: DCC Clock does not collect, send or share your personal data. What you enter stays on your device. This website sets no cookies and does no tracking.
Who is responsible
The data controller is DCC Data Communications Consultants Oy (business ID 1094668-4), Espoo, Finland, which publishes its apps under the name DCC Labs. For anything about privacy, write to privacy@dcclabs.net.
The DCC Clock app
What the app does with your information
- Personal occasions you enter, such as birthdays and anniversaries, are stored only on your device.
- Settings such as language, calendar, layout and night schedule are stored only on your device.
- Backup files are created only when you ask for one, and saved where you choose. We never receive them. Treat them like any personal file: they contain the occasions you entered.
- Battery level and charging state are read on the device to show them on screen. They are not stored or sent anywhere.
What the app does not do
- It does not require an account or sign-in.
- It does not contain advertising, analytics or tracking tools.
- It does not send your entries, settings or usage to us or to anyone else.
- The calendar data, including Finnish name days, is included in the app, so it needs no internet connection to work.
Because the app keeps no personal data anywhere but your device, we hold no data about you as an app user.
App stores
When you download DCC Clock, Apple (App Store, TestFlight) or Google (Google Play) handle the download and any payment under their own privacy policies. If you have chosen to share diagnostics with app developers in your device settings, the store may pass us anonymous crash reports and aggregate statistics such as install counts. These do not identify you to us.
This website and email
The website
dcclabs.net is a set of plain pages. It sets no cookies, uses no analytics or tracking, and loads nothing from other websites, so there is nothing to consent to. The site is hosted by Cloudflare, which processes technical data needed to deliver the pages and protect them from attacks: your IP address, browser type and the page requested. We do not use this data to identify you. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in running a secure website (GDPR Article 6(1)(f)).
If you email us
We use your message and email address only to answer you and to handle what you asked. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in answering, or taking steps you asked for (GDPR Article 6(1)(f) and (b)). We delete support correspondence when it is no longer needed, normally within two years. Our email is hosted by Microsoft 365.
Service providers and transfers outside the EU
Cloudflare (website hosting) and Microsoft (email, Microsoft 365) process data on our behalf as data processors, under agreements that include the protections GDPR requires. Microsoft stores our email within the EU. If either provider processes data in the United States, the transfer relies on the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or the European Commission's standard contractual clauses. We do not sell or share personal data with anyone else.
Children
DCC Clock is a general-audience app. It does not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children.
Your rights
For the app, you control your data directly: delete entries in the app, or remove the app to delete everything it stored. For anything we hold, such as your emails to us, you have the right to:
- see the data we hold about you, and get a copy;
- have it corrected or deleted;
- restrict how we use it, or object to our using it;
- receive it in a portable format.
Write to privacy@dcclabs.net. We make no automated decisions about you and do no profiling. You can also complain to the Finnish Data Protection Ombudsman (tietosuoja.fi).
Changes
If the app or this website changes how it handles data, for example by fetching calendar updates online, we will update this policy before that change goes live and change the date above.
